Business Casual Shirt Cloth

Image from iOS (3) (1).jpg

Hall Madden custom dress shirts come in a variety of different cloths and styles. Take a look at some of our favorite styles of cloth perfect for business casual.

Jersey: Think of your favorite knit polo shirt. The same soft fabric is now available as a custom shirt. Some slight stretch combined with a melange yarn makes this a perfect casual shirt under a sport coat (think: cotton, linen) or on its own with a pair of chinos.

Seersucker: Ignore the images of preppy striped summer suits for a moment and think about the wonderful texture as a shirt with very wearable stripes. Perfect for humid days when you still need a proper dress shirt.

Denim Lino: Take the relaxed nature of your favorite jeans, weave it from linen instead of cotton, and combine a custom fit for the perfect shirt that looks great and will develop a unique faded character over time. Just like jeans, these are available in different “washes”, too.

Balmoral: Imagine your favorite cashmere scarf made into a dress shirt. These fabrics blend the perfect mix of high-end cotton with cashmere to make the softest shirt you’ll ever wear — and in a weight that’s appropriate for summer.

Shirt Box 1 2019

BLUE CROSSES We saw this unique fabric and knew it’d be a fun addition to this box. The small navy crosses on a white background make for a shirt that can be worn with denim or even under a dark suit in the evenings. The blue buttons bring color when worn without a necktie. LIGHT BLUE DOUBLE WINDOWPANE The perfect business casual dress shirt in a classic color that goes with everything, but a unique pattern that’s not too loud. Wear this with khaki chinos, 5-pocket corduroys, and dress trousers. Or dress it up under a grey suit. GREY HOUNDSTOOTH It’s not too often wen find grey dress shirts that have something different about them in the weave. But we really like this houndstooth weave that gives great visual interest and has a nice hand feel. It works well with charcoal trousers and suits, and as an alternative color for under a navy jacket.

Now available: Neapolitan-style unstructured jersey blazers and jackets

Navy flannel stretch cotton jersey unconstructed blazer. Looks like a sport coat, wears like your favorite sweater.

Navy flannel stretch cotton jersey unconstructed blazer. Looks like a sport coat, wears like your favorite sweater.

Announcing our Neapolitan-style blazers that give you the ultimate comfort and ease. Feeling more like a favorite sweater with a tailored look, these jackets combine innovative stretch fabrics with a deconstructed shoulder and chest.

First, the fabric: a stretch cotton jersey from the Dondi mill in Italy, which specialized in these fabrics since 1970. This fabric’s unique properties are heavier and drape extremely well while also stretching with your body and feel soft to the touch. Two options are available: a thick navy jersey built for winter (above image) and a mid-blue honeycomb weave perfect for year-round (below images).

Next, because the fabric drapes so well, we’ve been able to remove the canvasing in the chest and the padding in the shoulders. This makes it feel more like a heavy knit instead of a traditional suit jacket. There’s zero “break in” period for the jacket to mould to your body.

Finally, we can offer unlined construction with finished interior seams. This lightens the jacket further, with bemberg lining applied only to the upper shoulder and sleeves. The interior panels are self-faced with beautiful interior seams, which is more time consuming and harder to make than a traditionally fully-lined suit. Combine with open patch front pockets to match the casual style and leave the interior clean.

We consider these “sweater blazers” to be a perfect travel companion as you’re able to roll them up into an overhead compartment on a plane or into your luggage. A perfect jacket that goes easily with denim, chinos and trousers and always looks professional and polished.

Now available for order and priced at only $1050.

1. The Tuxedo: "I went with the classic black with peak lapels, and to keep it on the traditional side jetted pockets and a single button. To modernize the fit and make it more comfortable, I went with an unstructured shoulder and dual back vents. While midnight navy shawl collar tuxedos are our most popular design among clients, it's nice to always to return to a timeless dinner jacket."

2. The Tuxedo shirt: "You don't have to wear shirt studs with your tuxedo. I prefer a "fly" front placket that covers thin mother-of-pearl buttons for a very clean and streamlined look. And I skipped the pleated front on the shirt, too, which I think looks a bit "disco." Obviously, I kept the French double-cuff as this is a formal shirt and a semi-spread collar, which I find frames my face best."

3. The Bow tie: "I always match my bow tie to my lapels on tuxedos, so it's in the same black silk satin."

4. The Shoes: "Our Hall Madden Signature Black Captoe Oxfords are a perfect option if you want something more versatile, as you can wear them with suits, too. But I really liked these formal loafers that have tassels and a bit of personality to them! Black tie doesn't allow you to make too many "statements," but sometimes it can be fun to bend the rules a bit."

5. Cuff Links & Pocket Squares: "The pocket square is a simple, TV-folded white handkerchief. My cufflinks are from my father -- jewelry is always more special when received as a gift."
