Review: Loro Piana Events
Hall Madden review: The updated Loro Piana Events book offers a fresh perspective on black-tie formalwear options for men, but also has plenty of the timeless classics. First, the collection presents the Silk Air series, a 80-20 blend of Super 130s wool and silk, which gives the fabric a bit of luster and softness. For those who want pure wool fabrics, the collection has an Australis Super 150s section from Loro Piana’s best-selling line of native Australian merino wool woven fibers. This also includes morning dress grey striped trouser fabrics. Next, for this who want a bit of stiffness to their garment, the Mooving line of 75-25 wool-mohair blend fabrics comes in the expected basics as well as burgundy and green. Additionally, a brand new expanded section of pure silk jacquards and plain weaves are perfect for standout dinner jackets and waistcoats. And finally, the new bright and bold "velvet” section features a brand new viscose and cupro blend that is much softer than the typical cotton velvets we’ve seen in the past.
