Review: Loro Piana Tasmanian Super 170s
Verdict: For the businessman who wants the premiere fabric from the most luxurious mill in Italy or a groom who simply wants to feel great wearing some of the softest wool fabric available. Cons: not for daily wear as a workhorse garment.
Hall Madden full review: The Loro Piana Tasmanian collection receives an upgrade in this best-selling fabric range from the Italian mill, using Super 170s superfine merino wool to produce suiting that defines the term classic. With solids in twill, sharkskin, birdseye, herringbone and nailhead weaves in classic blues and greys, you won’t have any trouble finding the perfect business conservative suit. But if you are feeling experimental, the collection offers glen plaids, pinstripes and more as well as some experimental colors. The superbly soft hand feel makes for an elegant garment with superior drape characteristics in this year-round weight cloth. We recommend the deep, dark navy tones which are a mainstay of this collection, or check out the slate-blue sharkskins for something unique.
